<description>Ron Clarke discusses the process of writing his book and palaeoanthropology. He made a significant contribution to the work on the Laetoli footprints in Tanzania.  He has made innovative use of casts in palaeoanthropology.  He has supervised Sterkfontein since taking over from Alun Hughes in1991.  In 1993 he collaborated with Lee Berger in a paper which suggested that the Taung Child skull had been transported by a large eagle, probably a Crowned Eagle, which was the likely cause of the child&#8217;s death.</description>
