YUSUF ABRAMJEE:

Yusuf Abramjee has been appointed as head of corporate affairs and communication for Primedia’s advertising division. Remaining in his role as head of news and current affairs at Primedia Broadcasting, his time will now be divided between these two roles.

Primedia owns Talk Radio 702, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 567 Cape Talk and 94.5 Kfm. Other companies within the advertising stable include Primedia Outdoor, Primedia Publishing, CommutaNet, Primedia@Home and Primedia In-store.

Primedia’s advertising division CEO, Kuben Pillay, said: “Primedia operates in a competitive and high profile business environment. Yusuf will be responsible for the management and enhancement of the group’s reputation and image through productive networks with key stakeholders, in particular government.”

Abramjee (44) has held various positions within Primedia Broadcasting over the years. He started off as a freelance reporter, became crime editor and years later, 702’s station manager. “I am looking forward to my additional role,” said Abramjee.

“Primedia reaches many millions of eyes and ears through its numerous media platforms. We have powerful mediums and it’s great to be associated with these brands. I will continue to oversee news and current affairs at Primedia Broadcasting.”

KATY KATOPODIS:

Katopodis’s responsibilities as group editor-in-chief will expand to include all four of the company’s stations: Talk Radio 702, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 567 CapeTalk and 94.5 Kfm.

Commenting on the decision, Primedia Broadcasting CEO, Terry Volkwyn, said: “Eyewitness News is a powerful brand that continues to expand. We have a strong team at the helm and we will continue to grow the brand.” “We wish Katy all the best in her new role,” she added.

Katopodis (33) has been with Primedia Broadcasting for over ten years. She started off as a reporter and later became 702’s news editor. “I’m very excited by this new challenge” Katopodis said. “Eyewitness news is already such a powerful brand and I look forward to extending its reach and seeing it become even more successful”.
