Building on the immense popularity of Talk Radio 702’s Solid Gold Weekends, the station is bringing listeners the first Solid Gold Session at Brightwater Commons.

Diaries Sunday 26 th October and make your way to Brightwater Commons – the green solution to your lifestyle blues – where you can enjoy your favourite tunes from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s performed live by the 702 Solid Gold band between 12h30 and 14h30.

The Solid Gold programmes are driven by audience demand, as listeners can request tracks via sms and e-mail. Similarly, it was in response to requests from the audience that 702 decided to create a live event, where listeners can take their families and enjoy the added nostalgia inspired by Solid Gold hits as they’re played live.

The 702 Solid Gold band is headed by Bobby Lowe and Dick Mackridge, both accomplished artists and engaging performers. They’ll be leading the band through classics from Queen, The Rolling Stones, Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond, Janis Joplin and many, many more.

The Brightwater Commons offers the ideal venue, as there are a variety of restaurants where listeners can either sit down to eat or buy a delicious take-away meal, and bring it to the lawns where they can enjoy the music and a bit of afternoon sunshine. Umbrellas, chairs and blankets are welcome, but glass bottles, picnic baskets and alcohol will not be allowed into the venue.

It’s a free concert and everyone’s invited to take a laid-back trip down memory lane with the music that will bring the best times from your past, back to life.
