| We planted our vegetable garden in mid November. We put tomato and baby tomato seedlings, pepper and chilli seedlings, aubergine and pepperdew seedlings, green and red lettuce and sweet and red basil seedlings. We also sowed carrot and baby carrot seed, spinach and cabbage seeds and courgetted and onion seeds. Just short of 4 weeks later, everything has sprouted, we have staked our tomato plants and have 2 green tomatoes already. This has been such fun for all of us - my daughters love going outside to cut off lettuce and basil leaves for our salad. The best part however is that when my husband comes home from work, he spends 15-30 minutes outside, watering the vegetable garden before he joins us inside, feeling more relaxed and having cleared himself of "work-stuff". |
