RECIPE: TIRED OF MINCE PIES?
(Make Nigel Slaters super easy, super delicious Christmas mincemeat crumble!)
400g tart green apples (sliced thin – no need to peel)
450g shop bought mince meat
1 banana (sliced into rounds)
Juice of 1 orange
100g flour
75g butter
50g brown sugar
10ml water
· Set oven to 200C
· Put the apples in an oven proof dish
· Mix in the mincemeat, banana slices and juice
· Put the flour, butter and sugar into your blender and wiz it up briefly to make a crumble or work it with your fingers until you get a crumbly consistency. If the mixture is too dry (powdery not crumbly) add the water.
· Pour the crumble mixture over the top and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown on top
· Serve with Crème fraiche
