Weird, rare and common phobias

Some of the most common phobias include fears of public speaking or other social situations (social phobia or social anxiety disorder), open spaces (agoraphobia) and closed-in spaces (claustrophobia). Dr Hanan explained that there is no one specific known cause for phobias, it is thought that phobias run in families, are influenced by culture and how one is parented, and can be triggered by life events. The doctor mentioned that one of the ways one can treat or cure a phobia involves the supportive and gradual exposure of the individual with phobias to circumstances that are increasingly close to the one they are phobic about.
