Why Judge Johnson acquitted scholar patroller of rape charges?


Bongani Bingwa speaks to Reverend Nsizwa Luthuli, Chairperson of School Governing Body, AB Xuma and Gauteng Education spokesperson Steve Mabona The High Court in Johannesburg found Johannes Molefe, the school patroller who was accused of sexually assaulting learners from AB Xuma Primary School, not guilty on all charges of sexual assault. He was on trial for three counts of rape and 11 of sexual assault. Acting Judge Peet Johnson found that the State had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he had committed the acts in 2017 on the children aged between five and 13.
