Born in Bridge of Allan Scotland and after 7 years the family moved to Bedford in England. Then at the age of 10 off to what was then Southern Rhodesia and then up to Zambia where I finished my schooling in Lusaka. Moved to South Africa in 1975. Joined Radio 702 in 1996 as a freelance producer and quickly became John Berks' regular producer which was great fun and such a learning curve about the radio business - but who better to learn from than John! We started a lunchtime music show for just one hour on a Friday and it went down so well with listeners that it became a longer show of it's own on a Saturday night called John Berks' Jukebox. After John retired in 1998 I was asked to continue compiling the music and also present it on Saturday evenings, hence the birth of the Saturday Bandstand! In my spare time, apart from listening to music from the Bandtand era of the 40's 50's and 60's I love to travel and am an avid reader and have been recording books onto tape for Tape Aids for the Blind for many many years.
