PROFILE
What did you want to be when you were little?
Before I could write, I used to dictate poems to my mother. In school, I drew a lot. So I guess I was never destined to be an actuary. When I became a journalist, I found my calling and became a storyteller.
What soothes you?
Browsing in big book stores. Feeding birds. Driving while listening to Pearl Jam. Writing.
What irks you?
Intolerance. Stupidity. Most politicians. Racists. And people who pick on those weaker than them.
Is there a book you read that changed your life?
Reading Mikhail Bulgakov’s Master and Margarita on board the Trans-Siberian express was definitely life-changing.
The music you listen to most often?
Pearl Jam, Third Eye Blind and David Gray are some of the favourites…
Who would you go to the ends of the earth for?
My family and my girlfriend.
Who is your greatest source of inspiration?
Impossible to say. I am inspired by countless events, people, sights and experiences each day.
Do you have any 'show off' coffee table books in your home?
I have a magnificent Mandela book… but my coffee table is usually covered with newspapers.

Ever been left speechless on the air?

Not yet. But watch this space.
Who is the one person you would love to interview, but haven't yet had the pleasure?
Barack Obama, Chuck Norris and Richard Dawkins. How's that for a nice spread.
