These are pictures from the latest book Shrouds of the Night by Prof David Block, the Director of the Anglo American Cosmic Dust Laboratory and Ken Freeman, Professor of Astronomy at the Australian National University.

The book features some of the most remarkable views of our cosmos. Many of the images are published for the very first time, and were captured using some of the world’s largest ground and space-based telescopes. Prof Block will launch the book at the Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg on Tuesday 27 January at 19h00.
