Mabe: ANC will go into the national conference united
The African National Congress (ANC) concluded their milestone Eastern Cape elective conference on Monday.
In his closing remarks, President Cyril Ramaphosa warned party leaders and delegates against purging their opponents.
ANC's national spokesperson, Pule Mabe, in response to the president's statement says the party is remaining hopeful and is not expecting signs of division.
Divisive and often deadly rivalry for positions have characterised elective conferences in the past.
Mandy Weiner asked that considering the above, can the national party anticipate unity ahead of its national elective conference set for December.
Mabe responded confidently that South Africa's leading political party will enter the conference united, adding that the national executive committee (NEC) is embracing a top-down approach on rising above conference differences.
Our role as members of the national executive committee has been to bring comrades together.
